Silver Pilot in Charge (SPIC) Days:

 

Minimum pilot qualifications:

Solo: Current on both aircraft type and launch method, Bronze ‘C’ with cross country endorsement.

Mutual Flight: Both pilots current on aircraft type and launch method, Bronze ‘C’ plus 50 hours P1.

Non Qualified pilots: Can fly P2, rear seat, with Air Experience qualified pilot.

Sponsor: Club CFI.

Tug:

No passengers to be carried whilst aero-towing in progress unless for specific training purposes. Sponsor: Tug Master / RNGSA recommendations.

N36: N36 is no longer cleared for aerobatics and the ‘G’ meters have been removed. Sponsor: Club technical member / BGA laws and rules.

Vehicles inc’ generator: All vehicles to be DI’d before starting. This is to include check of: Fuel, Engine Oil, Water (where necessary), Tyres (inflation & wear). The Auto Transmission oil is to be checked with the engine running. Sponsor: QA rep’


Club Orders:

Orders are to be signed as being read and understood by all club members on an annual basis. The air station will check on this at the next audit. Take time to read the orders relating to Duty Log and Duty Pilot as these duties will be enforced in the next few weeks. Sponsor: QA Rep’ / Air Station QA dept.

Silver Pilot in Charge (SPIC) Days (Updated):

Note these rules only apply if there is no instructor on site prepared to take responsibility. However, please do not pressurise ‘off’ duty instructors to carry out check rides etc as they may want to enjoy solo flying like the rest of us. Please don’t stay away on SPIC days as you may get un-restricted flying if you turn up.

Tow car: The tow car is still U/S. On its eventual return, please treat the gearbox with care ie do not attempt to move the gear selector without waiting for the vehicle to come to a complete standstill. Sponsor: QA rep’.

Volunteers Required: Volunteers are required for the following two non committee tasks: Hanger rep’ and Club room rep’: Responsible for ensuring both areas are kept clean and tidy and ready for inspections etc. Note, the reps’ are not expected to do the cleaning themselves but to arrange others to do it. Warning: If no volunteers by 21 Jun, the posts will be allocated with no exceptions. Sponsor: The committee / QA rep

Summer Course

The FAAOA Summer course is scheduled for the week 9th to 17th of August. The students arrive on the 8th, and the last two days are a reserve in case of bad weather. Anyone able to help with this please contact Derek. He also needs instructors.
